Rotary Encoder Current Adjustment Faults
Digital panel adjustment faults usually begin at encoder pulses, panel cable, panel board or main control input.
Component role
A rotary encoder is not the same as a potentiometer. It sends pulse states to the panel/control board. A stuck value does not automatically prove the power stage is bad.
Repair evidence table
| Symptom | Evidence layer | Repair clue |
|---|---|---|
| Current value cannot adjust | Encoder, panel cable, panel board | Check encoder pulse output and connector first. |
| Value jumps randomly | Encoder bounce or panel scan issue | Clean/replace encoder or inspect panel board. |
| Only one direction works | One encoder channel open | Compare A/B pulse channels. |
