Panasonic RF2 E-Code Fault Routing
E-code routing reference for RF2 inverter CO2 welders, combining display code, CT feedback, input-voltage evidence, torch/feeder wiring and board-level measurement points.
Database summary
The RF2 E-code system is valuable because it provides a first routing layer before board replacement. The code alone is not enough. Each E-code must be confirmed with input voltage, rails, connector state, CT feedback, TP reference values and board-to-board wiring evidence.
E-code routing table
| Code | Meaning | Primary evidence to collect |
|---|---|---|
| E1 | Primary overcurrent | Emergency-stop short link, I/F LED condition, control transformer secondary, +15V/-15V regulator output, op-amp output and I/F-to-CPU wiring. |
| E2 | Secondary output short / overcurrent evidence | Torch switch state, output cable short, CT output at TP7(Iao), I/F PCB and CPU PCB comparison. |
| E3 | Temperature / emergency / gas-pressure related abnormality | Thermal relay state, cooling fan condition, gas pressure detection and CPU connector state. |
| E4 | Primary overvoltage | Input above rated +115% class, power capacity, VP reference and I/F VR7 calibration. |
| E5 | Primary undervoltage | Input below about 85% rated class, momentary voltage dip, power capacity and VP reference. |
| E6 | Torch switch signal abnormal | Torch switch plug, feeder six-core plug, CPU CN6 two-core line, connector short or optocoupler fault. |
| E7 | Secondary output abnormal | Input phase, output voltage, secondary diode open, IGBT open, feeder fuse, voltage-feedback wire, work return and I/F output-voltage detection. |
Measurement references
| Measurement | Reference | Use |
|---|---|---|
| TP7(Iao) | Within ±50mV at no current; about 1.33V / 100A when compared with clamp-meter current. | Confirms CT current-detection behavior and helps separate real current from false feedback. |
| C52 VP input | About 2.95V at rated input reference after proper VR7 adjustment. | Used in E4 / E5 overvoltage and undervoltage diagnosis. |
| +15V / -15V regulator outputs | Present and stable on I/F PCB. | Required before op-amp, detection and feedback conclusions are trusted. |
