Model
ZX7-400 inverter welder platform
A common Chinese/OEM inverter MMA welder platform with MOSFET or IGBT power-stage variants and many shared control-board patterns.
Platform overview
ZX7-400 is less a single exact design than a family name used across many Chinese/OEM MMA inverter welders. Different units may use MOSFET or IGBT power stages, SG3525 or UC3846 control, and different long-strip control boards, but the diagnostic architecture is similar.

Fault paths
| Check | Normal / Expected | Abnormal Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| No power | Input fuse, auxiliary supply, startup path | Check DC bus and VCC first |
| Powers on no output | PWM shutdown, driver, power stage | Check control and driver waveform |
| Protection light | Overcurrent, thermal, feedback | Check power devices and feedback |
| Blows IGBT/MOSFET | Driver waveform, snubber, transformer | Do not power full bus until drive is verified |
| Low output | Feedback, rectifier, shunt, control loop | Check secondary side and current feedback |
IGBT-ZX7-400 service interpretation
When the ZX7-400 platform uses IGBT switching, the power-device repair should be documented as a sequence: power-off resistance and diode-mode checks, gate-drive branch comparison, auxiliary rail confirmation, protection input review and staged restart. This prevents an IGBT replacement from hiding a driver, rectifier or feedback fault.
| Service point | Field meaning |
|---|---|
| IGBT short with lamp limiter bright | Do not install devices until DC bus and secondary rectifier loading are separated. |
| One gate branch differs | Check gate resistor, clamp diode, coupling transformer path or driver transistor before restart. |
| Fan/display present but no output | Move to PWM enable, protection input and driver evidence rather than the power module alone. |
