Digital SAW model reference
MZ-III Digital Submerged Arc Welder Repair Reference
A practical MZ-III digital submerged-arc reference for power-source/carriage communication, memory channels, motor faults and voltage-feedback evidence.
Digital submerged-arc control model
MZ-III uses digital control for power-source/carriage communication, welding current, voltage, travel speed, wire diameter selection and channel memory. The carriage and power source must be diagnosed together.
MZ-III digital features
| Feature | Repair value | Fault clue |
|---|---|---|
| Digital link | Eliminates power-source/carriage display mismatch when working normally. | E003 or inconsistent display values point to communication evidence. |
| Memory channels 0–9 | Stores current, voltage, speed and wire diameter. | Wrong recalled channel can look like a process fault. |
| Wire-feed and travel control | Motor control moved into the power-source control system. | E004–E007 separate wire-feed from travel faults. |
| Low OCV class | Safer idle behavior on digital system. | Low idle voltage alone is not automatically an output fault. |
| Voltage feedback | SAW process needs reliable voltage feedback. | E009 points to feedback open-circuit evidence. |
